Accelerated Bachelor to BSN Program

The Bachelor’s to BSN Degree in Nursing Program is designed for adults who have a non-nursing bachelor’s degree, are seeking a career in nursing and have demonstrated the ability to complete an accelerated course of nursing study full time. The 19 month cohort based nursing sequence includes 79 credits of nursing core courses. Prior to enrolling in the nursing sequence, students must have completed all required prerequisite course work. With the exception of an accelerated schedule, all course and clinical requirements are identical to the traditional pre-licensure program. Nursing courses run in 12 week blocks including summers. Graduates of the program are eligible to apply to the State Board of Nursing to take the RN-NCLEX examination and qualify for admission to graduation study.

Course Style of Learning:

Cohort style 12 week sessions with the same students in each group throughout the program.

The School of Nursing and Health Management offers a program of study leading to a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. The Program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and The New Jersey State Board of Nursing. Upon successful completion of the program the graduate is eligible to take the NCLEX examination for licensure. Graduates who pass this examination will qualify for the title of Registered Nurse (RN).

The faculty believes that education for professional nursing practice is built upon a traditional core of knowledge and skills. The faculty views Nursing Education as a process of facilitating the development of competencies in nursing practice as well as fostering values of personal and professional integrity, caring, and service to society.

Curriculum & Course Requirements

 

  • 31 credits in prerequisite courses
  • 78 credits in nursing courses

Duration of program

Full time attendance-19 months (six 12 week sessions). Students who need prerequisite courses must satisfy those prior to enrolling in the nursing sequence.

Admission & Prerequisite Requirements

 

  • Demonstrated ability to complete an accelerated course of nursing study.
  • Earned a bachelor's or master's degree from a regionally accredited US college or university or an equivalent college with a GPA of 3.2 or higher.
  • Completed Application.
  • Completed statement of career goals.
  • Submit all official academic transcripts.
  • B- or higher in required prerequisite courses.
