New President Hits The Ground RunningSection Menu
Felician College President Dr. Anne Prisco has made meeting students just one of her priorities as the 2012-13 academic year begins.
Felician College President Dr. Anne Prisco has had a busy start to the 2012-13 academic year.
On August 21, she addressed the faculty and staff with her Welcome Address. Following a gracious introduction by Felician’s Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs Sister Mary Rosita Brennan, the more than capacity crowd greeted their new president with a rousing round of applause and a standing ovation.
Dr. Prisco touted the accomplishments of faculty and staff, including the innovative programs and curricula that are helping to transform Felician College while still maintaining its core mission. She also challenged the staff to look deeper and strive for continuing success in the future. Later that week, she met with student leaders, who were on retreat off-campus.
Sister Juanita Arnister and Fr. Ken Cienik, of Campus Ministry, were enthusiastic about Dr. Prisco’s attendance.
“I think Dr. Prisco’s being here with the students is so important and sends an important message that she really cares,” said Sister Juanita.
Dr. Prisco met with new students and their parents at Golden Falcons Day, and then again with incoming freshmen at orientation.
“I’m as excited as you all are. After all, you’re my first freshman class,’ said Dr. Prisco, adding, “We’re starting together. My wish for you is to embrace every opportunity here, embrace this privilege of a college education.
“But you need to work hard, you need to play… you need to be intentional in your choices, because what we do with our lives is up to us. My dream for you is that you fulfill your potential and lead a life with an informed mind and a compassionate heart.”

When she met with adjunct faculty last week, Dr. Prisco’s message was also one of encouragement, understanding and enthusiasm.
“I spent many years as an adjunct so I know how important your role is to the College and to the students,” Dr. Prisco said. “I’m proud of you and the work you’ve done, and I look forward to meeting with you as time goes on.”
